SGA was founded in 2017 as a pioneering integrated school. It is approved by the Ministry of Education, authorized by the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, and operates under the guidance of the Shenzhen Education Bureau and the Shenzhen Foreign Languages School Education Group. SGA is a leading model school within the Greater Bay Area.  

As a flagship school for education curriculum reform, SGA takes the lead in pioneering an integrated model of school management, curriculum design, and professional development. At SGA, we merge national and international curricula to create an effective educational framework with the greatest strengths of both traditions. SGA’s teaching and learning approach features the best elements of East and West delivered using interactive methodologies that educate and nourish the whole child. SGA is the first CIS (Council of International Schools) Internationally Accredited Boarding School in Shenzhen that provides the full IB Continuum of education from Grade 1 to Grade 12, offering challenging and inspirational education taught in English at every age level. We are also fully accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and BSA (Boarding Schools' Association).

Our Staff

SGA has an experienced and diverse faculty, holding degrees from renowned universities around the world. They share a strong affinity for China, an in-depth understanding of both Chinese and Western cultures, and a global perspective. SGA is proud of its expert teaching team, half of which are expatriates and half Chinese. All of our teachers are fully certified and IB trained, with most holding Masters or Doctoral degrees. SGA selects the best educators with great care, ensuring they are not only academically distinguished but also driven to help young people succeed.
