难忘的校内露营 Grade 4 & 5 Camping On Campus

Last March 26-27, the Grade 4 and Grade 5 students had a team building camp together in school. This activity was designed to foster relationships between the students in these two grade levels and to help them develop camaraderie and appreciation for one another. These two days were packed with fun-filled events designed and supported by different teachers and staff members.

     三月的最后一个周末对SGA四、五年级的学生们来说是难忘而特殊的。春光明媚的三月正是实践活动的好时节，同学们欢聚校园，进行团队建设活动、体验校内露营。这次宝贵的实践活动，增进了两个年级同学间的友谊，学生们在活动中培养团队精神、学会互相帮助、关爱他人的同时发现彼此的闪光点，取长补短。

We kicked it off with a set of team building activities designed by the P.E. teachers, Mr.Richards and Mr. David. They tried balancing the hula hoop as a team using one finger and going through the hoop in a big human circle. Then, they had a treasure hunt activity wherein they had to use maps to search for hidden eggs located in different areas of the school campus. The students worked together in teams to complete these tasks and they said they really enjoyed being able to freely explore and roam around the school grounds.

      周五下午放学，同学们来到操场参加体育老师Mr.Richards和Mr.David组织的一系列热身活动。同学们站成一个大圈，并用手指接力，传递呼啦圈。接下来，两个年级的同学们混合分组，在校园内进行定向越野和寻宝的游戏。他们每人都手拿地图，按照地图上的提示寻找藏匿在校园各地的金蛋。团队建设活动需要大家团结一心完成任务，同学们在小组里各司其职，发挥所长，在活动中享受寻宝的刺激和奔跑的快乐。

The students enjoyed the food prepared for them as well. All the students rated the food really high, and they really appreciated the efforts of the canteen staff to make this a great experience for them. They enjoyed giving a toast with juice to one another during dinner time to celebrate the occasion.  

      第一次留校晚餐的孩子们对食堂晚餐充满了期待！学校食堂为孩子们准备了可口的饭菜，第二天早上的早餐也是十分丰盛。孩子们感叹，这一定是全世界最好吃的学生餐厅！他们衷心感谢食堂工作人员用心为他们准备的餐食，在用餐后，同学们互相举杯，庆祝这美好的实践经历！

After dinner, the students sang their hearts out during karaoke time which was started out by Mr.E as he serenaded all the students with the song, “Just the Way You Are” by Billy Joel. They also had a good time busting their moves and grooving to different dance tunes. Some students enjoyed playing card and board games with one another and showcasing their creativity through their drawings and in designing their props for the photo booth.

      晚餐过后，同学们在多功能厅一展歌喉，俨然一场校园歌手大赛。小学部副校长Elmer先生抛砖引玉，他为我们带来了一首动听的《你的样子》（原唱Billy Joel）。同学们边唱边跳，跟着韵律舞动起来，现场气氛高涨，将活动推向一个小高潮。除了唱跳活动，孩子们还组队玩卡牌和桌游。有的同学发挥想象力、创造力，积极动手制作饰品并在拍照区拍照留念。

After the upbeat exciting events, the students had a more intimate and quiet activity where they were surrounded by fairy lights and electric candles and shared their feelings with one another. This was a good bonding experience for the children where they reflected and said their apologies and appreciation for one another. This activity helped to resolved some conflicts going on in the classes and it made them feel a better sense of belonging in the group.

      激动人心的歌唱活动之后，同学们静下心来，分年级围坐成两个圈，在闪烁的烛光下分享对彼此的感受。经过了一个学期，同学们对彼此都有了新的认识。他们思考在日常交往中自己需要改进的部分，利用这个机会向没来得及道歉的朋友致歉，并向大家介绍朋友的闪光点。这个活动成为解决班级矛盾、增强凝聚力的契机，同学们展露了内心柔软的部分，把话说开，增强了各自的归属感。

At nighttime, the students showed their organizational skills as they set up their own sleeping areas and got ready for bed. Before bedtime, they enjoyed a movie about a bird who was very lucky to avoid many scenarios of almost getting hurt. They enjoyed this with some night snacks with their friends. They were very excited that they found it challenging to fall asleep.

     露营活动开始时，同学们充分展示了自我管理能力和独立性：自己准备床铺、支起帐篷。熄灯前，他们看了一部纪录片《Tiny Creatures》（小生物）这部影片向观众介绍了一只幸运的鸭子。这只鸭子给同学们留下了深刻的印象，他们在愉快的观影活动结束后进入了梦乡。

The next morning, the students woke up early to enjoy watching the sunrise with their friends. Although it was a cloudy day and we did not get to see the sunrise, many children said it was still a special experience for them to drink hot coco while hanging out with their friends. 

After all these events, the students went back to pack up and clean all the areas they used for their camp. Although it was over, the lessons they learned and relationships they have built from this experience will stay on.

露营第二天，同学们相约早起，一同欣赏美丽的日出。可惜当日天公不作美，是个阴天。遗憾也是一种美！对很多同学们来说，这是一段特殊又宝贵的经历，他们和朋友们一起喝着热可可，感受清晨的徐徐微风。

      愉快的露营活动在孩子们的依依不舍中结束了，同学们收拾行囊，启程回家。露营结束了，但同学们的友谊和对彼此的关心却会一直伴随他们日后的学习生活。
