5月18日，深外湾区学校顺利举办了小升初家长说明会，学校领导团队向五年级的家长们详细介绍了中学部的课程体系、德育关怀体系和家校沟通系统，并就同学们的暑期生活安排给出实用建议。
On May 18, we welcomed our Grade 5 parents for Move Up Day meeting. The school leadership team gave a detailed introduction of our curriculum, pastoral care and counseling system, IT instructions, and provided practical guidance on summer vacation arrangements for the students.
IB-PYP小学课程和IB-MYP中学课程之间既有共性又有差异。PYP课程注重基础学科技能的发展，而MYP课程注重学科深度和广度的拓展，涵盖更多的学科和领域。MYP课程由八个学科组组成，同学们需要就不同学科领域进行研究，探索和分析不同的理论和概念，开展实验和调查，撰写论文和报告，并应对各种更加复杂的学习情境。因此，MYP课程对同学们的学术能力和自主学习能力提出了更高的要求，需要他们更加深入地理解和应用所学知识。
Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) are two are educational programs under the IB curriculum. PYP focuses on building basic skills in core subjects, while MYP focuses on exploring knowledge across various subjects, covering a wider range of disciplines and areas of study. The MYP curriculum consists of eight subject groups, requiring students to engage in research, exploration, and analysis.
同学们即将面临的教学模式也有所不同。PYP课程采用包班制的全科教学制度，除语文、美术、音乐、体育等部分专业课程外，同学们通常在同一个班级中，在班主任老师的带领下学习。MYP课程则按学科开展走班制教学，同学们在不同学科老师的指导下学习不同的科目，每天的课表不尽相同，作业量也更大。这要求他们高效利用学习时间，并合理安排学习计划。
PYP students typically study in the same class with a homeroom teacher. In the MYP program, they learn various subjects with different subject teachers. This requires them to manage their time effectively, plan their after-school activities, and be well-prepared for the next day's classes.
除了课程上的差异，进入中学阶段后，同学们还将迎接校园生活上的新变化。学校为六年级及以上学生提供优质的住宿条件，双人间、洗衣房、共享空间配套设施齐全，并有专职生活导师负责宿舍的管理。同学们可以与同龄人共同生活，获得更多的社交体验和学习机会。
SGA provides excellent accommodation facilities for students in sixth grade and above. There are dedicated residential advisors who manage the dormitories. Students have the opportunity to live with their peers and gaining more social experiences.
为了让五年级的同学们更好地适应中学学习生活，学校将在6月19日为他们安排过渡日活动。同学们将在中学部度过完整的一天，通过一系列体验及交流活动，更直观、更全面地了解中学的学习生活状态。
On June 19, Grade 5 students will have the opportunity to attend the Transition Day activity. They will spend a full day in the MYP, participating in a series of learning activities, to get to know their future teachers and what and how they will be learning.

Transitioning from PYP to MYP can be an exciting yet anxious time for both students and parents. By working together, parents and teachers can provide the necessary guidance and resources to help students continue to explore their interests, develop their skills, and thrive in the MYP.
