SGA Chinese Culture Month
律回春晖渐，万象始更新。历史翻开新的一页，我们迎来新的一年。为弘扬中国精神，塑造中国灵魂，培养同学们的中国情怀，二零二三癸卯年初，深圳外国语学校（集团）湾区学校面向全体社区成员，举办了热闹非凡的中华文化月暨第二届诗歌节系列活动。
As spring returns, all things begin to change. History turns a new page, and we usher in a new year. To promote the Chinese spirit, shape the Chinese soul and cultivate the Chinese sentiments of our students, Shenzhen Foreign Languages GBA Academy organized a lively Chinese Culture Month and the 2nd Poetry Festival series activities for all community members at the beginning of the year 2023.
中国精神就在我们的校园之中，是我们书写的每一个汉字，使用的每一句汉语，是我们待人的真善美，处事的 “儒墨道”。
原创诗歌节、诵读大赛、小学部中文演讲比赛、中学部中华文化百晓生等一系列中华文化月活动，旨在打造独特的中华文化校园文化风景线，促进营造良好的校园文化氛围。让湾区学校社区成员感受中国精神，从而进一步夯实湾区学校学子的文化素养，增强传播和弘扬中华优秀传统文化的责任感和使命感，鼓励深外湾区学子勇担使命，砥砺前行，在历史的坐标中定位自我。
Through a series of activities such as schoolwide Poetry Festival, Chanting Competition, PYP Chinese Speech Contest, and Chinese Culture Mr. Know-it-all for MYP students. The 2nd Chinese Culture Month aims to create a unique Chinese cultural landscape, a good campus cultural atmosphere, and allow every member of the community to feel Chinese spirit everywhere in our campus, which is every Chinese character we write, every Chinese we use, the polite way we treat people and how we behave according to the Confucianism, Mohism and Taoism, to further consolidate the cultural literacy of our students, enhance the responsibility and mission to spread and promote the excellent Chinese traditional culture, and encourage our students to take up the mission, forge ahead and find themselves in the history.

“诗词书团圆/诗词述真意”
小学部手抄诗/原创诗大赛
PYP Poetry Calligraphy/Original Poetry
手抄诗比赛为本次诗歌节拉开了序幕。同学们以“诗词书团圆”，笔尖随着诗韵而舞动，或铁画银钩，或矫若惊云。
而诗歌展，则带我们徜徉于诗的国度。我们陶醉于湾区小诗人们的文采飞扬、小小书法家们的字迹隽永，折服于家长诗歌作品的锵金铿玉。
原创诗大赛更是精彩纷呈。一、二、三年级同学分别以“ ________以后” “____像____”以及“当________”为主题进行三行诗创作。四、五年级则分别以“自然”与“家国”为主题进行现代诗创作，我们以诗词述出情意，踊跃投稿，尽显湾区学子的诗情才华。
The second Chinese Poetry Festival was successfully held at SGA in January 2023. Students experienced and appreciated the splendid Chinese cultural tradition by participating in poem creation, poetry calligraphy. Each student turned in one or more pieces of poetry work, which contributed to winning points for their own house. As part of our IB learning community, parents were also invited to participate in the Poetry Festival by submitting their own poem creations and calligraphy. Teachers from the Chinese team gathered together and selected winners from the excellent work submitted by students. 11 students from each grade won prizes for the poem creation competition and the poetry calligraphy competition.
All the awarded works have been displayed within the hallway between the PYP and MYP canteen during Chinese Culture Month. Students could read and learn the poems from different grades and also those submitted by parents. Chinese teachers have also created learning activities and assigned tasks to help students to appreciate the original poems.

“中文，是我唯一的行李”，这是诗人北岛在游历四方后发出的感慨。无论是旅居海外的华人文学家、华裔汉学家，还是世界各国的外籍汉学家，大写的中文、有记忆的汉语，都成为了他们穿行在文化路上的随身行李。在历时三周的诗歌节原创诗歌创作大赛中，中学部的同学们挥洒想象，蓄力创作，将奇妙的思想与瑰丽的小诗写在一张张卡片上：或思考年少友情，有如佳酿陈盏；或听雨歌楼上，看《人生》梦幻千奇；或唱一曲《南乡子》，歌出少年人的思乡之情。
而后，他们踮起脚尖，将诗与梦挂在食堂门口展出，它们像一个个风铃，愿把诗情带给风，带给太阳，带给大地自由地舒展。路过的师生驻足欣赏，因诗间有温暖，刚好与烦恼冰释前嫌。
"Chinese is my only baggage" is said by Beidao after traveling all over the world. Whether it is a Chinese writer living abroad, or a foreign sinologist from all over the world, Chinese have become their carry-on baggage on the cultural road. In the poetry writing competition, the students wielded imagination and concentrated their efforts to write wonderful ideas and beautiful poems on cards: or think about young friendship, like wine; Or listen to the rain song upstairs and see the fantastic life; Or sing a song "Nanxiangzi" to express the homesickness of young people.
Then, they stood on tiptoe and hung poems and dreams at the entrance of the canteen. They were like wind chimes, willing to bring poetry to the wind, the sun, and the earth to stretch freely. Passing teachers and students stopped to appreciate, because there was warmth in the poem, just to clear up the past with troubles.

MYP Chinese Poetry Reading
诗歌作为一种语言的艺术，不仅可以让大家体会到作者心灵深处的奥秘，也可以开拓读者的视野，激发想象力。在中华文化月的诗歌朗诵比赛中，中学部的同学们为自己喜爱的诗人“发声”，借助诗歌朗诵，探索诗人写作时的思绪与情感。其中，一首余光中先生的 《乡愁》，尤其唤起了湾区学子作为炎黄子孙的家国情怀。
Poetry, as an art of language, not only allows us to experience the deep mysteries of the soul, but also broadens readers' horizons and increases imaginations.
Jan. 2023, MYP students shared their favorite poets’ products during the Chinese Culture Month, showing their emotions in the poet's heart. Student used Mr. Yu Guangzhong's "Nostalgia" to express their inner desires as descendants of Yan and Huang.

在中华文化月 “诗人一生”原创视频剪辑比赛中，中学部的同学们可谓是 “八仙过海，各显神通”。有同学通过手绘定点卡纸的方式，向我们展现了山水田园诗人韦应物的一生。也有同学通过一人分饰多角的表演艺术向我们娓娓道来王昌龄的有趣经历。
MYP students did well in Original Video Editing Competition of the Chinese Culture Month. Students showed us the life of Wei Yingwu, a landscape and pastoral poet, by hand-painting fixed-point cardboard. In addition, some students told us the interesting experience of Wang Changling through the performing arts of one person playing multiple roles.

Chinese Costume Day
中国有礼仪之大，故称夏，有服章之美，谓之华。中国上下五千年的文化博大精深，积淀了丰厚的服装服饰文化。
2023年1月6日，是中华文化月主题活动中的“中华上下五千年华服日”，老师和同学们纷纷身着中国传统服饰。汉服、唐装、旗袍和其他的各色民族服饰，缤纷多彩，令人目不暇接。在这一天，也不仅是在”这一天”，我们感受优秀的传统文化，一同传承千年的大气典雅，让中华文化在湾区校园各美其美，美美与共。
China's five thousand years of extensive and profound culture has accumulated rich clothing culture. On January 6, 2023, the theme activity of the Chinese Culture Month is "Chinese Costumes Day". Teachers and students come to the campus in Chinese clothes, including Tang clothes, cheongsam, and Han clothes and other ethnic costumes. This day is not only one day, but also a day for us to feel the excellent traditional culture, inherit the thousand-year atmosphere and elegance together, and let the Chinese culture in the bay area campus enjoy its beauty, beauty and common.
“墨香迎新年”挥春活动
Creation of “Fu” and Couplets
辞旧迎新，挥春送福。学生们在书法课堂上，展纸书“福”，于一撇一捺寄托对癸卯新年的希冀，以翰墨飘香传承对传统年俗的眷恋。教职工们更是齐聚一堂，泼墨挥毫，将浓浓年味洒满校园，将中华风雅珍藏心间。
To send blessings and give our best wishes during the Spring Festival, the students created ‘Fu’ in the calligraphy class. Our faculty and staff also gathered together and celebrated the Chinese New Year by writing couplets and presenting to each other.

同学们的精彩表现点燃了老师们的高昂斗志，中外双方的老师们纷纷摩拳擦掌、跃跃欲试，希望为自己学院的最终胜利添砖加瓦。在全校教职工大会的教职工中文知识接力赛上，老师们火力全开，你追我赶地争相回答了许多问题，现场气氛热情高涨。经过激烈的角逐，最终White Tiger的老师们摘得了教职工中文知识接力赛的桂冠！
The wonderful performance of the children ignited the high morale of the teachers. Both Chinese and expat teachers are eager to try and make contributions to the final victory of their houses. In the staff Chinese knowledge relay competition, the teachers were full of enthusiasm and managed to answer questions. After fierce competition, the teachers from White Tiger obtained the laurel of the staff Chinese knowledge relay competition!

Through the "Chinese Culture Month" series of activities, children can enjoy the glorious traditional culture of the Chinese nation in the strong Chinese cultural atmosphere, feel the spirit of the Chinese nation's self-improvement, and draw the strength to go to the international stage from the unique charm of poetry and songs. May all SGA students can tell a good story of Chinese civilization based on the motherland and show the world a calm and confident image of Chinese youth.
